A major upgrade to https://blogs.lincoln.ac.uk will be taking place over the coming weekend. Ahead of this, on Thursday 8th November at 4pm, editing of site content will be turned off and all sites hosted on this network will be set to read-only.

All sites will remain visible throughout the upgrade allowing visitors to access and view content. Editing is scheduled to be re-enabled on Monday 12th November at 2pm, although please note that this is subject to the successful completion of the upgrade.

Please note that this will not affect any other University WordPress services such as https://coursework.lincoln.ac.uk, https://sites.lincoln.ac.uk or https://myblog.lincoln.ac.uk.

It also doesn’t affect any sites that have recently been migrated off the old platform.

This upgrade will deliver improved performance and security and bring the platform up to date with the latest version of WordPress. As a result, older themes and plugins that are no longer compatible may not be supported, and users may experience issues with site content and/or functionality. However, an extensive selection of new themes and plugins will be available for all to use and help guides explaining how to make use of these will be available via the WordPress dashboard.

We apologise for any inconvenience these changes may cause. However, this upgrade is essential to keep the service secure and running smoothly. It will also provide users with a faster, up to date and fully supported and managed blogs network.
