These include understanding the formation and development of education policy processes, educational management, school and HE sector labour relations/teacher unions and the investigation of teachers’ work/academic labour through labour process analysis. |

| Biography | I taught for 15 years in a 14-19 comprehensive community college in Leicestershire. During that time I held posts with both academic and pastoral responsibilities. As a teacher I was an officer in my professional association and was an elected teacher representative on the Leicestershire Education Committee. In 2002 I joined the Centre for Educational Leadership and Management at the University of Leicester, first as a lecturer and then a senior lecturer. In 2007 I joined the Centre for Educational Research and Development as Deputy Director. I have been Professor of Education since 2009. I am currently a National Council member of BELMAS and Visiting Professor of Education at the University of Staffordshire. I am an Associate Editor of Professional Development in Education and a member of several editorial boards including Education Administration Quarterly, Forum: for promoting 3-19 comprehensive education and the International Journal of Education Management. I represent the University of Lincoln on the UCEA Plenum. |
